Takazawa has been making plant based candles in the province of Nanao, Japan since 1892.
Named after the city in Japan where they're made, the wax from these Nanao candles are made from Sumac berries, rice bran and rapseed flower oil, and the wick is made from dried rush and washi-paper.
There are 5 Nanao candles in total, all based on the shape of a plant motif that grows in the Noto Peninsula. Each of the five candles is named after a letter of the word plant: 'P-L-A-N-T'. This single candle is Nanao Candle 'P'
The heritage brand Takazawa prides itself on living and working in harmony with its natural surroundings.
