Takazawa has been making plant based candles in the province of Nanao, Japan since 1892.
Named after the city in Japan where they're made, the wax from these Nanao candles are made from Sumac berries, rice bran and rapseed flower oil, and the wick is made from dried rush and washi-paper.
Each of the 5 candle is based on the shape of a plant motif that grows in the Noto Peninsula. The heritage factory prides itself on working in harmony with it's natural surroundings.
